Day 1: Pick Up from JKIA, Transfer to Masai Mara, & Evening Game Drive 

Our professional safari guide will be at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Waiting Bay, ready to welcome you to Kenya with a big African smile. The guide will be holding a placard bearing your name. So, you will effortlessly sport him.

Road Trip to Masai Mara National Reserve 

After formally welcoming you to Kenya,  the gold-level guide will brief you about the safari and then welcome you to your exclusive safari land cruiser. The road trip to Masai Mara will start now. It is a 6-hour journey that will see you make stopovers along the way, including Narok town, to stretch your legs. 

So, comfortably lean back and enjoy the fantastic view of the attractions strategically located on the route to Masai Mara national reserve. These include the picturesque Great Rift Valley and other countryside attractions. You will be at the chosen lodge by noon, check in, take lunch, and then relax for a few hours.

Flight from Nairobi to  Masai Mara National Reserve 

An alternative is to catch a flight from Wilson airport to Masai Mara; our safari Nairobi safari guide will transfer you from JKIA to Wilson. This airport is a few kilometers from the Nairobi city center and about 30 minutes drive from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. 

The flight from Nairobi to Masai Mara takes about 50 minutes. Depending on where you will stay, you will land at one of the multiple airports in Masai Mara. Our Masai Mara safari guide will pick you up and head straight for game drives at the reserve. 

You will enjoy the action-packed mid-morning game drive until noon, the perfect time to check in, take lunch, and relax for a while.

Evening Game Drive at Masai Mara National Reserve 3-6 PM

Whether you came by road or flight, you have an evening game drive today. So, after checking in, freshening up, taking a meal, and relaxing, get ready for the 3 pm game today. You can take a nap and watch the beautiful scenery and wildlife from the safety of your patio if you feel tired. 

Remember to pack your binoculars and camera for the evening game drive. You will get to the lodge when the sun sets for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive at Masai Mara with Packed Lunch 

Early morning game drives are the best time to catch the giraffes, antelopes, and zebra foraging for food from the dewy shrubs before the sun dries them up. You are also likely to encounter large herds of mammoth elephants, majestic lions, cheetah, hyenas, and smaller cats looking for food.

Most animals will retreat as time passes and the sun gets hot. This will be the best time to take the packed lunch in the jungle. You can have your lunch by the Mara River, aiming to spot the crocodiles, hippos, and buffaloes wallowing in the muddy river.

You will then continue with the game drives until late evening. Watch out for the sunset when heading to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Optional Hot Air Balloon Ride – USD 500 Per Person 

If you like, you can start the day with a hot air balloon ride from 5.30 am to around 9 am. A Masai Mara hot air balloon safari costs about USD 500 per person. It is a bargain when you consider the fantastic view of the green shrubbery vegetation, indigenous trees, and the thrilling wildlife you experience from the sky. 

Additionally, a champagne breakfast is served at the end of the two hours of the aerial view of the Masai Mara. You will then continue the regular game drives until evening and head to the lodge for dinner and rest.
