- Kenyan Citizen (KE) – Kenya citizens refers to Kenyan nationals by birth or registrations. They pay citizen fees and should produce valid Identification Card or national IDs when accessing the park.
- East African Citizen (EAC) – These are nationals of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, and South Sudan. They pay resident fees and should produce valid passports when entering the park.
- Residents – They are people of other nationalities residing in Kenya. Residents pay residents rates and should have valid residence documentation for the Kenya government when accessing the park.
- Rest of Africa – They are nationals of other countries in Africa except those of EAC. They pay the rest of Africa fee and must produce valid passports when entering the park.
- International Visitors (INTL) – These are international tourists from outside of Africa continent or other EAC or rest of Africa visitors without all valid documentations. They pay the non-resident rates.
- Student – Students are individuals from a recognized education institution such as a secondary school, private college, government college or university. They should not be older than 23 years and should be visiting the park for conservation or research purposes. The education institution needs to inform Kenya Wildlife Services at least one week before as this will enable KWS to issue a written authorization for student fees or rates. Students who visit Nairobi National Park on a privately organized safari holiday pay the citizen or resident fees.
- Children – Visitors of Nairobi National Park categorized as children are persons of age 5 – 17 years. Children below 5-years old do not pay park entry fees.
